Originating in 1925, Sylva Insurance Agency has been located on Mainstreet Sylva for just shy of 100 years. This makes us the oldest independent agency in Sylva, NC. Many things have changed over the past 100 years, but our loyalty and dedication to our community never will. 1925 Sylva Insurance

 In 1925, Sylva Insurance opened its doors as an independent insurance agency on main street in Sylva, NC. Sylva insurance was founded by John Morris Sr.

 

1962 Allman Insurance

In 1962, Jim Allman began his partnership with Nationwide and opened his office on Main Street in Sylva. After serving the community many years, Jim passed his business along to his son, Howard Allman.

 

2020 New Ownership & Partnership

 In January 2020, Zeb and Chelsea Allman became the new owners of Sylva Insurance Agency. Months down the road, they began their partnership with Howard Allman Insurance, becoming "2 Agencies under 1 Roof". Our family owned (and operated) office now has more options than ever.
